Yohaku™ Japanese Head Spa Method.
Your Journey to Mastery.

A grounding in the craft of head spa. Students develop a working understanding of trichology, scalp pathology, and consultation-led analysis, then build the manual foundations of the practice — the art of cleansing through susugi and senpatsu, conditioning and treatment placement, and the rhythm, pressure, and contact of foundational scalp massage.

The course closes with two core techniques: kihon anma, the basic stress-relieving scalp massage, and kawaki anma, the foundational dry head massage used where water is not available.

Covering creating experiences is at the forefront of what this course is about.

Origins

Building on the foundations, this course deepens both clinical understanding and technical range. Students develop a working knowledge of alopecia and hair loss variants, learn to select and sequence protocols for specific scalp conditions, and master hair restoration techniques including deep conditioning, structural repair, and cuticle sealing. Manual practice extends beyond the scalp into kubi-kata shiatsu — targeted acupressure for the neck and shoulders — and jōhanshin anma, upper body integration through the scapula, clavicle, and upper back.

The course also addresses advanced ergonomics and flow, the discipline of moving between techniques without breaking contact, and closes with menyū sekkei: the design of signature rituals, with attention to pricing, timing, and structure.

Refinement

The culmination of the Yohaku curriculum, this course refines the practitioner's craft into something closer to art. Students learn the kapposen technique — Yohaku's signature nanobubble foam massage, developed for deep relaxation and sensory immersion — and wafū anma, an advanced Japanese-style synthesis of breathwork, rhythm, and deep tissue release. Beyond technique, the course explores

The Yohaku Experience itself: the art of intentional space, expressed through silence, pacing, breath synchronisation, and stillness, and the design of immersive treatments through scent, touch, and visual atmosphere. Advanced ergonomics and flow are sharpened to a level where transitions between techniques are no longer noticed.

The course concludes with a live practical assessment, where each student demonstrates the technical and philosophical integration of their work on a model.

  • When choosing someone to train with in Japanese head spa, it’s important to find a mentor who is passionate, learns from the source, and truly values providing a high-quality experience. Alex meets all of these qualities through his knowledge, professionalism, and dedication to the craft. I had the opportunity to meet him in Japan, and even though we live in different countries, I truly appreciate his continued support and guidance.

  • Training with Alex was one of the most valuable experiences of my professional journey, and I mean that wholeheartedly. From day one, the approach was unlike anything I had before deeply hands-on, incredibly patient, and built entirely around making sure you leave not just informed, but confident. We worked with live models throughout, and whenever a thought or question came to mind mid-session, Alex would stop, take the time, and go into a full, meaningful conversation about it. Nothing was ever brushed aside. Everything was explored with passion and depth. What sets Alex apart is the calibre of his own training. He has travelled to Japan regularly to learn directly from masters in the field environments where you repeat a technique until it is truly right, not simply shown and sent on your way. He brought that same exacting standard into our training, delivering it with warmth, patience, and genuine care for your growth as a practitioner.

  • We couldn’t have grown Gold Class Head Spa into one of Queensland’s largest head spa businesses without the incredible support and training from Alex. His knowledge, passion, and attention to detail are truly next level. From day one, Alex has been extremely professional, supportive, and dedicated to helping our business succeed. His training systems, techniques, and guidance have helped us improve not only the quality of our treatments, but also the overall customer experience and business operations. What sets Alex apart is that he genuinely cares about the success of his students and businesses. He is always willing to share his expertise, provide ongoing support, and ensure everything is performed to the highest standard. I highly recommend Alex to anyone looking for the best head spa training in the industry. If you want to build a successful and professional head spa business, Alex is the person to learn from.

  • From the moment I met Alex I knew he was the real deal. Everything so professional and top notch. Not only did I get to experience using the best products in the game but also the best knowledge in the finest of details is what I appreciated. My business is all about the little things and I feel they make or break your craft. Caring for you clients means you care for the fine details as that is what I would expect paying a premium for a service. Alex taught me these details with such ease and professionalism and I felt like we were friends for years. He shut down bad habits before they were engrained with grace and softness without being rude. He guided me where I was at. Thank you so much Alex for everything you have taught me so far. Look forward to seeing you in Japan one day.

  • Training with Alex has been such a great experience. From day one he just made everything feel easy, I never felt silly asking questions, and there were a lot of them! We covered so much, from techniques and pressure points to understanding skin conditions and he had a way of breaking everything down so it actually made sense. He genuinely cared about how I was progressing and always made time for me. Even now he still goes above and beyond, and that kind of support is honestly hard to come by. Not everyone gets a mentor like this, and I’m really grateful.
